Imagine a world with digital threads of manufacturing information. These stories will help us get there.

By Lindsey Frick, MESA Communications Manager
MESA (Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association) International is on a mission to unlock success stories about using manufacturing data and IT to make smart decisions throughout value chains. These stories will help the world learn how manufacturing data can be used to save time, money, resources, and spot a host of environmental savings. It's time to turn data into opportunities!
Check out MESA's Smart Story Awards -- Due by June 20th.
Stories can be from manufacturers, solution providers/systems integrators, 3PLs, recyclers, retailers, or anyone involved in any part of the value chain of a product, component, or material.

WHY THESE STORIES ARE IMPORTANT
I'll be blunt. Manufacturing is one of the most important industries in the world.  If you don't think you're connected to manufacturing, just reach out and touch ANYTHING. My guess is whatever you're touching or looking at was manufactured and you are personally somehow connected to that product's value chain even if you aren't the one who made it or bought it.

Behind that product is a wealth of information. When that information is available in a digital thread it can be turned into savings and the scale can be seductive -- save one minute in a system and you could save thousands of dollars or maybe thousands of pounds of paper.

A report from McKinsey & Co. says 80-100% of manufacturers will be leveraging IIoT in both discrete and process manufacturing by 2025 to the tune of $2.3 trillion dollars per year in productivity and other savings!

In addition to savings, the overall demand for digital threads of manufacturing information is gaining traction across all types of buyers.

Yet despite the importance of digital threads, companies get overwhelmed in understanding WHAT data to collect and HOW to turn the data into opportunities.

MESA's Smart Story Awards creates a single destination for professionals to get a full spectrum of case studies and success stories about how and why to use manufacturing data.

Dig deep and think about how your company uses manufacturing data to make smart decisions throughout a product's value chain. All story submissions will get promotion, but only three stories will win the grand prize!
